How to Access DVA Physiotherapy

To start receiving DVA physiotherapy services, you’ll need a referral from one of the following:

  • Your GP (General Practitioner)

  • A specialist or consultant physician

  • A Local Medical Officer (LMO)

  • A hospital discharge planner

Who Is Eligible?

DVA physiotherapy services are available to veterans who hold a Gold Card (covering all clinically necessary treatment) or, in some cases, a White Card (for specific accepted conditions). If you’re unsure about your eligibility, we can help guide you through the process or you can check directly with DVA. DVA Physiotherapy – FAQs

What does DVA physio cost?
If you hold a DVA Gold or eligible White Card and have a valid referral, there are no out-of-pocket costs for physiotherapy services.
Do I need a new referral each year?
Referrals typically last for 12 sessions or 12 months, whichever comes first. After this, your GP may provide a new referral if continued treatment is needed.
Can I receive treatment at home?
Yes, we offer mobile and in-home DVA physiotherapy services for veterans who may have difficulty attending clinic appointments.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your DVA card, referral letter, and any relevant medical documents or imaging reports if available.
How quickly can I start treatment?
Once we receive your referral, we'll aim to book your initial assessment as soon as we can!
